Liverpool: Fans surprised that Adrian is left out of Carabao Cup clash vs Arsenal

Liverpool fans were surprised to find that manager Jurgen Klopp intends to start the young Irish goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher instead of Adrian against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.

The 32-year-old stepped in for Alisson Becker after the Brazilian suffered a calf injury during the opening Premier League game against Norwich City in August and played 11 games in between the sticks. Adrian moved to Anfield on a free transfer after he was released by West Ham United at the end of last season after the departure of Simon Mignolet to Club Brugge.

The Spaniard was very impressive and only conceded six goals in eight games and kept two clean sheets, but looks set to step aside against the Gunners:

Caoimhin Kelleher is set to start our Carabao Cup tie with @Arsenal tomorrow, Pep Lijnders has confirmed.

Kelleher will make his second appearance for the first team after featuring against MK Dons in the third round of the domestic cup competition.

Fans believed that manager Jurgen Klopp should revert back to Adrian after his contributions earlier in the campaign and expressed their views on social media.

Here you will find some of the best responses from Liverpool fans:
