Flocking to Twitter, plenty of Liverpool supporters criticised the performance of young full-back Neco Williams who filled in for the recovering Trent Alexander-Arnold against Wolves – going on to blast his display as ‘childish’ and ‘awful’.
Williams, who has been inserted into the right-back role in place of Alexander-Arnold, continues to earn the faith of Jurgen Klopp – with some Reds questioning that decision, although with James Milner out injured, there aren’t too many other options.
Indeed, the Welshman was booked just a few minutes into the encounter – going on to walk a tightrope, arguably needless given the severity of the encounter.
The 19-year-old, while still inexperienced, will need time to full adjust and become a reliable back up in this Liverpool side – but these supporters, in particular, don’t seem to be convinced.
