Teenager Jadon Sancho scored his first goals for England’s senior team last night, netting twice in the 5-3 win over Kosovo in Euro 2020 qualifying.
The 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund winger also set up one of England’s goals on his eighth cap for his country, having already scored 17 goals and provided 27 assists in 60 appearances for his club. Interestingly, three of those goals have already come inside five games this season for Dortmund, as well as four assists.
The Telegraph reported last February that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted he had wanted to bring Sancho to Anfield before the youngster moved to Borussia Dortmund in 2017, but former club Manchester City were unwilling to sell him to another English side.
After Liverpool played Borussia Dortmund in a pre-season friendly in July, Klopp told liverpoolfc.com that Sancho was “an exceptional talent“, saying that there was “no doubt about the potential” of the teenage winger.
These Liverpool fans on Twitter were calling for the club to try and bring Sancho to Anfield in upcoming transfer windows:
