Liverpool could have put their game against Manchester United to bed in the first half, if it wasn’t for an excellent offside call from the official and a controversial foul being given against Virgil van Dijk. However, with 10 minutes to go, the Reds had their backs against the wall until Alisson produced an incredible assist for Mohamed Salah, and fans went crazy.
The Brazilian’s drop-kick from the edge of his own area gave Salah the opportunity to hold off Daniel James and slot home Liverpool’s second. Alisson’s 80-yard run to celebrate with the forward seemed completely warranted for such an important moment.
The Reds’ official Twitter account posted the news that the goal had gone in and fans couldn’t help but reply and show just how amazed they were at what they just witnessed. Many pointed out their goalkeeper now has more assists than Jesse Lingard managed during the whole of 2019, but others could hardly put a sentence together — they were that impressed.
90′ – Great ball from Alisson sets Salah free, he shows great strength and keeps his calm to double our lead!!
