Liverpool: German source makes David Raum claim

Liverpool: German source makes David Raum claim -Liverpool News

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Hoffenheim full-back David Raum, according to reputable German outlet SportBILD (via Sport Witness).

The lowdown: Rising stock

The 24-year-old left Greuther Furth in 2021 and has since gone from strength to strength in the German Bundesliga.

A marauding left-back, Raum has scored an impressive 37 times and provided 55 assists in 231 appearances across all levels including youth action in Germany, perhaps implying he would fit perfectly in Liverpool’s bombardment of goal creation from the full-back positions.

Now, a move to the Premier League could be on the horizon…

The latest: Reds’ interested

As per SportBILD, translated by SW, Liverpool are among the ‘interested parties’ in the senior international.

The report claims that as many as five English clubs and one from Germany are keen on the star once hailed as ‘extremely fast’ by Hoffenheim sporting director Alexander Rosen.

It’s also stated that the five-cap ace ‘will probably’ move to the Premier League this summer should a release clause of €30million (£25.3million) be met.

Who did these Liverpool players join from? First up, David James arrived at Anfield from which club in 1992?

The verdict: Too many options…

So far this season the German has scored three times and provided 13 assists in 30 Bundesliga outings – earning an outstanding 7.33 Sofascore rating made up of 1.6 tackles, 1.1 clearances and 3.0 accurate crosses on average per game.

However, despite Raum’s evident ability, Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp already boasts two top-class left-backs in the shape of Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas in the Anfield squad, aged just 28 and 25 respectively.

Therefore, the only way this move would make sense for new sporting director Julian Ward would be if Tsimikas – who has been linked with Juventus recently – were to move on in search of regular first-team action.
