Liverpool: Fans agree with Jurgen Klopp’s comments on Takumi Minamino

Jurgen Klopp has praised Takumi Minamino’s performance against Everton on Sunday.

In a recent press conference, the manager has lauded the Japan international for a ‘good’ performance in the Merseyside derby (via James Pearce).

“There were a lot of good parts to his game but no-one is interested when you don’t win,” Klopp commented. “A lot of things in his performance were good.”

Minamino played just 45 minutes before he was replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but he showed flashes of promise during the first half. According to Sofascore, the 25-year-old made two tackles despite playing on the wing and registered an 84% passing accuracy rating.

Liverpool are still a hefty 20 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, but will hope for a win against Crystal Palace to calm any nerves. Minamino could get some more time out on the pitch and fans seem to be all for it.

One supporter has even said ‘he will be perfect’ if the club looks to replace Roberto Firmino, as the Japanese attacker can operate both on the wing and up front. The same fan has also praised him as being a ‘great signing’.
