Liverpool: Fans urge club to cash in on Dejan Lovren to fund Thiago transfer

Liverpool are reportedly ready to cash in on Dejan Lovren this summer, who is in search of regular first team football.

According to Neil Jones (relayed via @AnfieldEdition), the Croatian is ready to move on from Anfield and be part of a set up where he will be getting more playing opportunities.

Lovren has been with the Merseyside outfit for six years after joining in a £20million deal from Southampton in 2014 (via BBC Sport). During his time in red, the defender has made 185 appearances and will leave the club as a Champions League and Premier League winner (via Transfermarkt).

Loads of Liverpool fans have flocked to the update to discuss the idea of Lovren leaving the club. One fan thinks it would be a ’10/10 window’ if the Reds cashed in on him. The Croatian has become a controversial figure amongst fans after several poor performances, with many already calling for the sale of him.

Another supporter has tweeted ‘Thiago incoming’, as they clearly feel the added cash from Lovren’s departure could fund their interest in signing Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara.
