Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Wolves winger Adama Traore in a cut-price deal in the summer transfer window.

The Lowdown: Reds linked with Traore

Jurgen Klopp could be searching for another wide man in the coming weeks, as he looks to have numerous top-quality options in that area.

The Reds struggled in part due to the loss of form of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino last term, and with Xherdan Shaqiri expected to leave this summer, another forward option is likely required.

One player who has been linked with a move to Liverpool is Traore, with the Spaniard featuring in 37 of Wolves' 38 Premier League matches last season.

The Latest: New update emerges

According to The Daily Star, the Reds are hopeful of signing the 25-year-old for £30million this summer - less than Wolves have demanded for his signature in the past.

Klopp is described as a 'big admirer' of Traore and Wolves' finances have taken a hit in the last year or so, meaning they may be willing to sell him on the cheap.

That claim on Klopp's interest is certainly backed up by the German's own comments in the past, as he called the Spain international 'unplayable' in January of last year.

The Verdict: Worth the money?

If Liverpool could get Traore for £30million it would arguably be worth the risk, but he remains a flawed footballer.

The £27million-rated Spain speedster only scored and assisted two goals apiece in the league in 2020/21, which considering what an attack-minded player he is, highlights a lack of end product.

That being said, his incredible speed could be a huge weapon from the substitutes' bench - he averaged 4.1 dribbles per game last season, which is comfortably more than any Liverpool player - and he could grow from working alongside Klopp, who is clearly a big fan.
