Many Liverpool fans have flocked to a tweet from Reds news Twitter account @AnfieldEdition which has shared an image of the moment that referee Paul Tierney blew the whistle for half-time in the Reds’ latest Premier League fixture versus Manchester United.
This game ended in a 0-0 draw between Liverpool and their rivals. However, it could be argued that the Reds were denied a potential goalscoring opportunity when the half-time whistle was blown before the allocated minimum of one minute first-half stoppage time had elapsed.
Tierney blew his whistle just after Xherdan Shaqiri had played a ball over the top for Sadio Mane to chase and potentially go one-on-one with Red Devils stopper David de Gea, but the clock had not yet reached the minimum one minute of added time.
So, how have these Liverpool fans reacted to this image?
After an image showing this moment was relayed on Twitter by @AnfieldEdition, it sparked plenty of anger amongst these fans of the Merseyside club, who felt they were wronged.
“Not good enough #NonLeague”
“Criminal that mate”
“Absolute joke!”
“How bizarre”
“Unbelievable nobody’s making a big deal about this!!”
“One of the worst calls I’ve ever seen”
Were Liverpool treated unfairly?
YES
NO
In other news, some Liverpool fans were unimpressed by Trent Alexander-Arnold’s latest display.
