Life amongst the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern has been pretty good of late.
Indeed, our resident Reds were thrilled by what they say against Arsenal prior to the international break and the capture of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has only excited them further.
Still, reports from the Times threaten to dampen the mood amongst our local Kopites somewhat.
They claim Jurgen Klopp fears Nathaniel Clyne’s back injury could keep him out for up to three months, hence why the England international was left out of the club’s Champions League squad.
The 26-year-old hasn’t featured for the first-team since the opening pre-season fixture back in July and the former Southampton man will play no part in the group stages of Europe’s elite competition.
They run until December, though Clyne could feature in the latter stages should Liverpool progress from a group also containing the likes of Spartak Moscow, Sevilla and Maribor.
While the Liverpudlians propping up our bar are disappointed for Clyne, they believe Trent Alexander-Arnold is proving himself to be a more than capable replacement.
Thoughts?
