Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are bamboozled by the news in the Daily Mail that reveals Brendan Rodgers is plotting a move to bring Fernando Torres back to Anfield.
The rumours have come to life after Napoli have shown an interest in Mario Balotelli, which would pave the way for the on loan Chelsea striker, who has only scored once in ten games for Milan this season.
A possibility that may rule out the transfer, is that Jose Mourinho may recall him from his loan to add depth to his squad, but this is unlikely after he said Torres must fulfill his stay at the San Siro.
Liverpool are clearly in trouble after their £16m gamble on Balotelli didn’t pay off and it is thought Rodgers is considering a move to bring El Nino back, hoping his return would see him recapture his unstoppable form.
But the return of his potent days at Liverpool are looking unlikely as he is now 30-years-old.
The way the business may pan out, is that Torres will be loaned to the Reds with a view to a permanent move whilst Balotelli will join Napoli with a similar deal.
