Steven Gerrard is, perhaps, the best-known example of that, with the Englishman going on to have one of the most remarkable careers in the modern game. It’s not just limited to him, though.
Countless top tier players have made their names at Anfield, and many more will likely do the same over the coming years.
Jurgen Klopp, then, has a rich history from which he must build.
He’s shown signs that he’s willing to do that, particularly in the rise of Trent Alexander-Arnold, but next season, perhaps he should pass the baton on to a few others.

Ryan Kent had a disappointing season last year, but the attacker impressed against Chester FC during Liverpool’s first pre-season game.
He scored for the Reds and generally looked pretty good, and that’s all he can do at this point.
It’s unlikely that he’ll be a player that can deliver stunning performances and start every week, but Liverpool have enough of that star quality. What they need is depth, and Kent has done everything right so far this summer to prove he can do that.
He could be a useful option over the next year.
Sheyi Ojo has been one of Liverpool’s best and brightest young talents over the last few years.
On loan, he hasn’t always lived up to his potential, but it’s always been clear that he has the potential to succeed, with his natural ability always evident.
At 21-years-old, he’s at a bit of a crossroads. He had a decent campaign last year at Fulham, and now he could be ready to take the next step.
Like Kent, he’s unlikely to be a starter right away – but he could have a role to play as Jurgen Klopp looks to bulk out his squad.
