Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah is in danger of missing the start of next season as he may be participating in the 2021 summer Olympics.

Speaking during his press conference (cited by Read Liverpool), Egypt U23s coach Shawky Gharib confirmed that the upcoming Olympic Games in Japan would see a strong Egypt squad.
“The team’s technical staff and the Egyptian Football Association have the desire to call up Mohamed Salah for the Olympics,” he said.
“Salah is a world-class player and I hope that he will be able to play with us in the Olympics. When you have such a player in your team, the objectives of the team would be different.”

Salah’s influence in this Liverpool team is key and the ‘Egyptian King’ has been a breath of fresh air ever since his £34m move from Roma back in 2017.
Scoring 103 goals from 164 appearances is enough evidence to back this up, winning back-to-back Premier League Golden Boot awards in 2018 and 2019 (via the club’s official website).
What may reassure Liverpool fans is that Jurgen Klopp has managed to adapt his tactical approach without his key personnel on occasions, which is why they have grown as a club in recent years.
While it may be a slight concern, the Reds will have to plan ahead and ensure, once again, that they can cope without him.
