Liverpool and Manchester United fans are discussing sensational reports in the Transfer Tavern today, which suggested the two arch-rivals could complete some January business together.
Spanish outlet Don Balon claim Liverpool have made Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes their prime January target, with Jurgen Klopp keen to add a talented goalkeeper to his squad.
With Liverpool unconvinced with Belgian goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, they’re looking to bring Valdes across the North West in what would be a shock move.
Valdes has been ousted from the Manchester United first-team following a high-profile bust-up with Louis Van Gaal and is set for a January exit but the Red Devils do not want to strengthen a Premier League rival and would prefer the Spaniard to move abroad.
Therefore, it seems extremely unlikely that they would approve a move to Liverpool, a historic rival and a side that could prove to be a thorn in their side as the season progresses; especially with the battle for Champions League football.
The fans of both clubs at the bar have taken this news very light-heartedly and have agreed amongst themselves that this deal is close to impossible.
