Liverpool pushing on to try and get £70m+ deal over the line

Lemar

Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are very excited about what their side could manage to do this Deadline Day with plenty of rumours still circulating.

Indeed, the club has been touted for a move for Virgil van Dijk pretty much all summer but whilst that one is still in the air there is certainly a considerable push going on for Thomas Lemar.

The story broke earlier this week that the Reds were in talks with the winger’s club Monaco and negotiations are still going on – as per The Independent – with hopes a deal can be struck.

For sure, though, it’s not going to come cheap with the report suggesting a cash plus Divock Origi deal could be made worth around a huge £74 million.

That, of course, would represent a pretty huge outlay for the club and would also be their record signing but it seems as though they are not bothered about that in an exciting development for the club’s fans.

It remains to be seen, then, whether or not they can get it over the line before 11pm tonight.

Landlord’s Verdict

Lemar would be a top signing for the club and would surely make a potent attack even more dramatic.

For sure, the Reds going forward are devastating at times and if Lemar comes in to help that they really are going to take some stopping over the rest of the campaign.

Thoughts, Reds fans? Let us know below!
