Liverpool: Reds fans laud superb Trent Alexander-Arnold performance vs Wolves

Some Liverpool fans have been heaping praise on Trent Alexander-Arnold, following a faultless performance against Wolves on Monday evening.

The Premier League champions picked up a welcome 1-0 win at Molineux, with Diogo Jota’s first-half strike the difference between the two sides.

Liverpool weren’t necessarily at their free-flowing best on the night, but they defended well throughout and looked more slick in the final third than they have in recent months, with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Jota all combining for the winning goal.

While centre-back duo Ozan Kabak and Nathaniel Phillips took home a fair majority of the praise after the match, someone else who shone was Alexander-Arnold.

The 22-year-old was outstanding all evening against Nuno Espirito Santo’s men, keeping the dangerous Pedro Neto quiet and silencing those who claim he struggles defensively, not losing a tackle and making nine recoveries overall.

Alexander-Arnold has struggled to replicate last season’s brilliance in 2020/21, occasionally looking a jaded figure, but this was more like the player supporters have grown to adore in recent years.

For a player who receives a lot of criticism defensively, Trent was brilliant in his own third there. Kept Neto very quiet
