Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are seriously looking forward to seeing what the next few hours over today and tomorrow are going to bring in the transfer market.
With just over a day to go in the window things are certainly looking as though they could go down to the wire with a number of deals involving the Reds still up in the air.
Indeed, Thomas Lemar and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could arrive whilst Philippe Coutinho might leave and another deal that remains talked about is that involving Virgil van Dijk.
The Dutch defender hasn’t played for Southampton this season thanks to all the speculation going around at the moment and it seems as though the Reds are still confident of making a deal stick.
Indeed, that is per the London Evening Standard who are reporting that the Reds remain hopeful of bringing the centre-half to Anfield.
Certainly, that would be a turn around from what was going on earlier this summer and so now it remains to be seen if a deal is struck.
Landlord’s Verdict
Liverpool need a new centre-half more than anything else in this last day or so of the market and so that is what most Reds will want to see.
Van Dijk is the one they want, too, and so now it remains to be seen if the club can at last get this deal over the line.
