Liverpool have been one of the most active Premier League clubs in the summer transfer window, with plenty of changes expected on Merseyside next season.
The Reds have already secured the signings of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong, while speculation continues to build around a potential bid for Newcastle United star Alexander Isak.
In terms of outgoings, Trent Alexander-Arnold joined Real Madrid as expected, Jarrell Quansah signed for Bayer Leverkusen, Caoimhin Kelleher moved to Brentford, and Nat Phillips completed a switch to West Bromwich Albion.
Reports today have confirmed that left-wing sensation Luis Diaz will be the next departure, with Liverpool reaching an agreement worth £65.5m for him to join Bayern Munich.
It is claimed that this move will prompt Liverpool to go all-in for Isak, with Newcastle bracing themselves for a bid from the Premier League champions.
The Swedish striker hasn’t been the only attacking talent on Liverpool’s radar, as they have also been consistently linked with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo over the past few months.
However, fresh reports from Spanish outlet AS have thrown cold water on Liverpool’s interest in the Brazilian.
The publication claims that Los Blancos are keen to offload five players, including Rodrygo, this summer as part of an overhaul under new manager Xabi Alonso.
AS also revealed that Liverpool have cooled their interest in the winger, although Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur remain keen.
It is further noted that Madrid would not accept anything less than €100m (£86m) for the 24-year-old, once dubbed “special” by Carlo Ancelotti.
Will Liverpool sign Alexander Isak?

There’s no doubt that Isak would be an incredible signing for the Reds, despite the recent addition of Ekitike.
The 25-year-old has become one of the most talked-about strikers in Europe and, as a result, comes with a hefty price tag of £150m.
Whether Liverpool are willing to commit to that fee remains to be seen, as fans anxiously await a formal approach and official bid from the club.
However, Newcastle’s situation could make the signing near impossible, regardless of the offer.
The Magpies have struggled to land their top targets this summer, with failed attempts to sign Joao Pedro, Yoane Wissa and Ekitike all ending in rejected bids.
With Callum Wilson moving on following the expiration of his contract, Isak is Newcastle’s only established first-team striker, as William Osula has yet to prove himself a worthy starter at St James’ Park.
If Newcastle cannot secure a replacement for Isak in the remaining weeks of the transfer window, they will likely attempt to convince him to stay for another season.
That said, it will be interesting to see whether Diaz’s departure sparks a move for Isak in the coming days and whether Newcastle will even consider entertaining an approach.
