Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are really looking forward to seeing what the next day or so has in store for them in the transfer market.
The men from Anfield have had a strong start to the campaign and currently sit second in the league behind arch rivals Manchester United as we head into the international break.
Before the national teams take centre-stage, though, the rest of the transfer market needs to conclude and the Reds could certainly be one of the sides to watch.
Whilst Thomas Lemar and Virgil van Dijk are being talked about it also now appears as though the Reds are going to try and sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal.
However, their first bid has been rejected – as per James Olley on Twitter – and so it remains to be seen what they do next:

The Reds, then, are ahead of Chelsea in the queue for the England international but still haven’t offered enough for the Gunners to accept and so it remains to be seen just what happens next.
Landlord’s Verdict
The men from Anfield have been very busy in recent days trying to get players in and with this deal they look as though if they can stump up the money they’ll get the player.
‘The Ox’ evidently wants to move to Merseyside but nothing will happen unless the two teams can strike a financially sound deal.
