Reds scouts have been sent to go and watch the Portuguese international goalkeeper in action, and are readying an £11 million summer bid.
Patricio has an abundance of experience of playing football, and has accrued over 220 appearances for Sporting .
The goalkeeper has been a frequent part of the Portugal national side, and has made appearances for the Portugal under-16 team up to the senior side.
It remains to be seen whether Patricio will take over the number one spot at Anfield, or play as back up to Simon Mignolet.
