Liverpool’s new signings are looking well at home now, and the Reds fans in the Tavern are loving it…
Take, for example, Georginio Wijnaldum. The Dutch midfielder joined from Newcastle with a few question marks over whether he’d be good enough to play for a team challenging for the top four – but so far the early suggestions are that he can.
In defence, Joel Matip has looked like a real stalwart and seems to be a class act. He’s strong, quick and reads the game with ease.
Behind him, Loris Karius has finally made his debut and looks to be a real improvement on Simon Mignolet, and you have to say the star signing so far has been Sadio Mane. Mane has transformed the way Liverpool attack and could be key to their fortunes this year.
A good transfer window was had in the summer then. But it’s already getting time to focus on January as Jurgen Klopp looks to strengthen his squad once more.

Xabi Alonso
Almost any Liverpool fan you’ll meet will say they should have never sold Xabi Alonso – as things simply weren’t the same without him pulling the strings.
The club still haven’t replaced him, and despite his aging legs – he’d still be a real asset and give Liverpool that ability to control football matches once more.
He would also be an invaluable role model to have in the dressing room amongst a squad with relatively little experience.
Pepe Reina
Another player arguably sold before his time, Reina was a real character for the Reds.
He performed in big games and knew what it meant to play for Liverpool and despite again, his age, he’d still offer so much to Klopp’s team.
Loris Karius looks to be the future in goal for Liverpool but he could learn a great deal from their former stopper.
Javier Mascherano
Mascherano was an absolute titan in the middle of the pitch for the Reds and has gone on to do the same so for Barcelona.
He’s played well at centre-half too but with the Catalans looking to the future with Samuel Umtiti – the Argentine could fancy a move away.
Liverpool would certainly benefit from getting him back, at least in the short term.
