Falling at the last hurdle in the Champions League against Real Madrid, Liverpool nonetheless had a very positive season last year.
Another top four finish with some blistering football played, the Anfield outfit will be pleased with last season.
Even more pleasing for the Kopites will be that Klopp has added Fabinho to his squad, after the Brazilian was in fine form for AS Monaco last season. The German manager looks like he wants to build on a very positive season last time out, he has made another positive addition in Naby Keita. The central midfielder has played a key role in the success of RB Leipzig in recent years and looks an excellent combative central midfield option.
Liverpool fans will be hoping Klopp will continue to show ambition in this Transfer window with more signings to make them believe this could be their year.
However, there are also some players who look like they are clinging on to a place in the squad at Anfield. Klopp does not need hangers on when he is attempting to win silverware.
With that in mind, here are three players who just shouldn’t still be at Anfield…
Danny Ings has spent the majority of his Liverpool career in the treatment room.
Once a promising striker in fine goal scoring form at Burnley, his career has completely stagnated in Merseyside. In just 14 appearances in his three seasons, he has scored three goals.
One goal per season sums up what a disaster Ings has been at Anfield. Whether he will return from injury the same player he was before it is questionable.
Liverpool should sell Ings for the good of his career.
Liverpool should look for an upgrade on the 32-year-old centre back.
Klavan is a solid but unspectacular Premier League centre back. The Estonian provides cover for Liverpool’s first choice players, but at 32 years of age it is time to consider selling Klavan.
Not blessed with the most pace, Klavan can get exposed by quick attackers. If Liverpool are serious about becoming a dominant force in Europe, Klavan is exactly the sort of player they should seek to find an upgrade on.

Even if Sturridge could stay fit however, whether he could get in the team ahead of Firmino, Salah and Mane is extremely doubtful.
Sturridge was once considered one of the best forwards in English football, but his stock has seriously decreased since then. Injuries have haunted the Birmingham born striker and he has not looked himself in recent seasons.
Sturridge needs to leave Anfield and see if he can find his form again.
