Many Liverpool fans have been venting their anger after being unable to get tickets for Premier League matches at Anfield in the members’ ticket sale.
Supporters with club membership can apply for tickets for home league games twice a year – July for the first half of the season, November for games after New Year’s Day.

With the Reds winning last season’s Champions League as well as being eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, and with Anfield having an official capacity of just 54,074 before away fans’ allocation and season ticket holders are deducted, the biannual members’ ticket sale unsurprisingly saw demand outweighing supply.
A further restriction of tickets available to members in the general sale sees those who have attended 13 or more home games in the previous season given priority, with those members able to buy tickets two days ahead of the general sale. [via liverpoolfc.com]
These Liverpool fans took to Twitter to curse the organisation of the members’ sale:

4+ prem games recorded every season for over a decade and now I’ll get no tickets for the 3rd member sale in a row and lose my loyalty points. @PeterMooreLFC do I need to wait til Hodgson is back in charge before I can get tickets through the members sale again? No point renewing

Normal ticket sale joke at @lfc. Members that have been loyal for years being bumped off the queue for tickets by those that joined two weeks ago.

@LFC the sooner u have photo members cards and do random checks at home games the better. Its impossible to get on the sales in both periods no matter the criteria and the amount of people I see giving up their cards on secondary sights 5 mins later disgusting #LFCMembersSale

Sort your Members TICKET sale out @LFC this is gone beyond a joke. I’ve qualified/waited in 6 queues for premier league matches over the last 2 seasons, totalling to over 20 hours waiting and been unable to purchase ANY tickets. pic.twitter.com/ZW7RttfaWb

Farcical again. Why do the most loyal fans get punished? 2 hours queuing on Tuesday but then having to queue again on Tuesday in the bun fight that is the general members sale. 3.5 hours today, only needed villa and Sheff Utd. Got nothing. Pathetic #lfc @PeterMooreLFC

Thoroughly enjoyed the most recent instalment of the bi-annual @LFC members ticket sale. £30 a year to sit in a que for three hours, twice a year, with zero hope of getting tickets is the sort of excitement we all need #lfctickets
