Liverpool: These fans were unconvinced by reports of Naby Keita’s possible return from injury

Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita could be available for selection for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Newcastle at Anfield, having been ruled out for almost a month with a torn muscle bundle.

The Daily Express reported (by citing Physio Room) that the 24-year-old is in line to return to action next weekend following the muscular injury he incurred on the day of the UEFA Super Cup meeting with Chelsea in mid-August, with the news relayed by Anything Liverpool on Twitter. Keita has only played 23 minutes of football so far this season, appearing as a substitute against Manchester City in the Community Shield, and missed nine matches in the latter weeks of the 2018/19 campaign with muscular and groin injuries.

He also flew back from the summer’s Africa Cup of Nations in the middle of the tournament for a medical assessment by doctors in Liverpool, as reported by BBC.

These Liverpool fans on Twitter seemed frustrated by Keita’s succession of fitness problems over the last few months, with some referencing the multiple injuries suffered by former Red Daniel Sturridge in his Anfield career by comparison:
