Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern certainly enjoyed their Bank Holiday weekend as matters both on and off the pitch took a seriously positive turn.
Indeed, things all got off to a good start as their 4-0 win over Arsenal took them to second in the Premier League table ahead of the international break and now attention is turning to transfers.
Indeed, the Reds have now signed Naby Keita for next year and the news that Thomas Lemar is a serious target has further excited the club’s fans.
Certainly, there still appears to be some negotiating to do before anything happens but things are being discussed right now as the club look to get the deal over the line before Deadline Day.
And, according to The Liverpool Echo, the Reds are perhaps going to see a £75 million plus player deal do the trick in signing the French international.
Indeed, the player in question is Divock Origi with him looking further down the pecking order at the club than he has been and a loan move – as is being touted – to Monaco could help him kick-start his career.
Landlord’s Verdict
Signing Lemar would be a huge statement from the Reds as they look to put a massively impressive squad together in these final few days.
He has all the hallmarks to fit into Jurgen Klopp’s playing style and Divock Origi moving on loan to Monaco would surely work, too, as he aims to try and get things going for himself.
