Liverpool managed to secure all three points against a helpless Watford side yesterday and extended their lead over Chelsea who are now in fourth position.
The Reds have been a force to be reckoned with in the current campaign as they remain unbeaten in the Premier League, with the pressure now on the shoulders of Manchester City. Although, it appears as if the club will be welcoming a player back to Anfield in January, as according to the Daily Mail, Ben Woodburn’s loan deal at Sheffield United looks like it will be cut short.
Interestingly, Liverpool teenager Ben Woodburn is expected to feature in Sunday’s mini-derby against Everton, despite being on loan to Sheffield United.
Liverpool have chosen to recall the Wales international for the Premier League 2 fixture at Goodison Park because the 19-year-old has made only one substitute appearance in the Championship since mid-September.
And, it now looks likely the forward’s disappointing spell at Bramall Lane will be cut short in January, despite joining on a season-long loan.
THE VERDICT:
Liverpool desperately need to find the youngster a club that can provide him with the foundation to develop.
Ben Woodburn has plenty of potential and could easily become one of the stars of the future at Anfield if he can enjoy regular minutes at this stage of his career.
Unfortunately, the Blades just haven’t been able to provide him with regular minutes as they continue to fight for promotion to the Premier League, so recalling him makes perfect sense.
