The Belgian ‘keeper departed Liverpool for Belgian side Club Brugge in a deal that sees the Reds recoup £6.4m for the 31-year-old shot-stopper, according to BBC Sport.
Signed from Sunderland in 2013, Mignolet went on to make well over 200 appearances in total for the Reds (per Transfermarkt). However, the signing of Alisson last summer saw the Belgian ‘keeper demoted to second-choice at Liverpool, resulting in him making just two appearances last season (per Transfermarkt).
Having been with Liverpool for some time, some fans were sad to see the ‘keeper go but still wished him the best of luck as Mignolet returns to his home country with Club Brugge, and supporters took to social media to thank the shot-stopper for his years of service with the club.
Here is how some fans reacted to the news on Twitter…
Professional on and off the pitch. His character and class really showed when he was barely playing a game but still showed continuous support and never moaned about him being benched. Class from Mignolet.
Good Luck Migs, YNWA

Absolute model professional.
Lost his place 2 different keepers in last 2 seasons but stayed to fight for his place, never caused any bother, was very supportive of his team mates & didn’t run crying to the media about anything.
