These truly are some difficult times the world is currently going through and the fact that there’s no football to watch, play or report on is suddenly not as important anymore.
The recent events have forced people into isolation and quarantine, making mundane everyday stuff much more difficult to perform, especially with the emphasis on staying at home at all times.
Still, despite all the gloom, players and clubs have been trying to cheer everyone up as best as they can, either by posting funny videos, taking on various challenges or simply sending motivational messages through social media.
Virgil van Dijk was among the latter group as Liverpool’s colossus decided to put together a classy message of support to all the fans out there in these difficult times.
Here’s what he said on Twitter.
I just wanted to send a message to say I hope everyone is doing OK in these difficult times.
We must all look after each other in what is tough circumstances for everyone across the whole world. Please stay safe.
We will be back!

He urged everyone to look after each other and stay safe, which is an admirable act and will undoubtedly help at least some people cope with the situation at hand.
