Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are daring to dream that the Premier League title could finally be on its way to Anfield in the near future.
They’ve been feeling this way, truth be known, ever since Jurgen Klopp arrived in 2015 but now they’ve seen such a possibility really look like it could happen soon with the way they’ve played this year.
The Reds have been nothing short of scintillating at times this season and have blown many teams away whether they’ve been relegation candidates or fellow title challengers.
They should, then, be streets ahead of anyone else but it’s their defence that is still letting them down.
Thankfully for our local Reds punters The Mirror is reporting that Joe Hart could be a summer signing at the club in 2017 in a move that could see them win the title in 2018.
Our landlord thinks it’s a definitely good looking deal on paper and has come up with this possible dream back-line involving him for 2017…
GK: Joe Hart

The England international was shipped out on loan by Manchester City in the summer earlier this year after Pep Guardiola made it clear he wouldn’t be part of his plans.
Since then he has done fairly well during his temporary spell with Torino but you have to think he’ll want a crack at the Premier League again, with or without City. He commands his area and has plenty of experience so could be top drawer for the Reds.
RB: Nathaniel Clyne

Clyne won’t be going anywhere, anytime soon.
He is Mr. Dependable at the club and very rarely puts a foot out of place defensively whilst offensively he is very good. He’s one of the best modern type full backs around in the league right now and so Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool do not need to worry about getting a replacement in for him at any point in the near future. He’s as solid as they come and sometimes there is no substitute for that.
CB: Joel Matip

Speaking of solid Joel Matip is that in human form.
He’s already become a hit with Reds fans for his calming presence at the back and sheer ability to read the game and cut out threats. He’ll surely only get better once he has settled in more at Anfield and the most prominent compliment our landlord can afford him is that he looks like he’s been at the club for ages. The defender has been a top signing so far this season.
CB: Dejan Lovren

The Croatian still has his dodgy moments but at least they are more few and far between now.
Under Klopp he’s become a more reliable presence and having Joel Matip alongside him has certainly helped him out this year. The thought here by the bar amongst our Reds fans is that over time their relationship and understanding will get better and the mistakes will eventually be near eradicated for good. Time will tell.
LB: James Milner

You’ve got to hand it to Milner – he’s done very well this season.
When it became clear at the start of this campaign that the former Manchester City midfielder was going to become the Reds’ first choice left back many punters here in the Transfer Tavern couldn’t quite believe it. You could see why, too, as it smacked of poor planning from the Anfield club, but the Englishman has done a fine job and deserves to play here into 2017.
