Shock, dropped glasses and some serious annoyance seem to be the order of the day here in the Football Transfer Tavern after the latest story from Metro, who seem to be under the impression that Hugo Lloris could well be open to a move away from Tottenham Hotspur – and to Arsenal.
Current Gunners forward Olivier Giroud has shocked us all by claiming that Lloris could consider making the switch – and would not even think twice about it.
Clearly Lilywhite fans in the tavern are more than a little bit put out by this suggestion, and we would wager that Arsenal’s controversial current stopper will not be best pleased with his teammate’s comments either!
Forward Giroud was asked about Frenchman Lloris and claimed: “Have I asked him to join Arsenal? Yes, I have with Lolo [Laurent Koscielny]. He would have liked to, he would quite like to. You will have to ask him the question.”
As one of our more tipsy punters rather unkindly points out, after the decline in Spurs form this season, quite why Arsenal would want Lloris is debatable – then again they did ship an unholy amount of goals on the weekend themselves
We think Giroud is just stirring up trouble – and the move would never come off.
