Everton failed to secure all three points at Stamford Bridge last time out as they held on to secure a 1-1 draw in what was a rather impressive performance.
The Toffees will have their sights set on securing a European spot in the current campaign having enjoyed a rich vein of form recently, with the January transfer window possibly helping their cause.
However, the Merseyside club did suffer a big setback on the injury front recently as Gylfi Sigurdsson suffered an injury against Chelsea. The Icelandic international will not be joining up with his national team during the international break and Marco Silva confirmed that he was concerned about the attacking midfielder after the game.
This provides a couple of the club’s outcasts with the perfect opportunity to showcase their talents and impress Everton boss Marco Silva.
With that in mind, it’s time for these TWO Everton outcasts to really impress…
ADEMOLA LOOKMAN
Ademola Lookman has the potential to become one of the best attackers in English football but his progression has been halted by a lack of minutes on the field at Goodison Park this season.
Indeed, the youngster has only managed to make seven appearances for the Toffees this season and only has one assist to his name so far, but this can be put down to settled attacking line that Silva currently has at his disposal.
However, with Gylfi Sigurdsson out for the foreseeable future, perhaps the Englishman can step up to the plate and deliver consistent performances in the side.
DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has never really been able to nail down a permanent place in the side since making the move from Sheffield United back in the summer of 2016.
Indeed, the Englishman currently has 12 appearances to his name in all competitions but the majority of these have come off the substitutes’ bench, so it’s safe to say he is more of a squad rotation player under Marco Silva.
But, with Sigurdsson now facing some time out on the sidelines, perhaps Silva will look to the versatile Calvert-Lewin as the man to provide a consistent flow of goals in his absence.
