‘Looks like a dead deal’ – Man City fans concerned over transfer targets worrying update

Jorginho

The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to wonder whether they will ever conclude a deal for Jorginho, and recent reports have given them reason to believe that a potential deal has been abandoned.

Pep Guardiola’s pursuit of Jorginho has been documented for a number of months now but a potential deal still seems a long way from completion. The Italy international has widely been regarded as a natural successor for Fernandinho who recently turned 33-years-old, so City’s interest in the Napoli star is a testament to how highly he is rated in Manchester.

However, it appears that City might be forced back to square one in their pursuit of a central-midfielder, as Jorginho was recently pictured on a plane heading for Brazil.

Although the update does not necessarily imply that Jorginho won’t be completing a switch to the Etihad this summer, it does suggest that a potential deal will be placed on hold for now.

In response to the update, the City fans took a more pessimistic view and expressed their belief that any potential deal could well be dead and buried.

There are plenty of alternative talents for City to consider this summer, but after a lengthy and highly-documented pursuit, it would feel like a real kick in the teeth for the club if they were to miss out on Jorginho.

Here’s what the Man City fans have had to say in response to their transfer targets latest update…
