The Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been baffled by the news that the ticket sales for this weekend’s game against QPR have almost reached 30,000. The club’s final game of the season has nothing riding on it other than the battle for 13th in the Championship. Elland Road holds just under 38,000 meaning the majority of the stadium will be full for their dead rubber clash. Fans can buy tickets on the Leeds United website.

This season has been excruciatingly painful for all those associated with Leeds United. The Whites imploded slightly earlier than usual this time around as the season became derailed in January. The Elland Road faithful are enduring their eighth straight year in England’s second tier and are yet to finish in a playoff spot, something they would’ve hoped to remedy this year, although, sadly, that hasn’t been the case.
The club started strongly under Thomas Christiansen and were even top of the league for two weeks in September. Even at the turn of the year the club was in the mix for a playoff spot and still held on to 6th place, things quickly turned sour though. Three wins since January 1st, Christiansen’s sacking and an abysmal January transfer window all combined as the club have fallen to mid-table mediocrity and now the fans face yet another year outside of the Premier League, despite the fans continued incredible support.
