There have been very few players who have left Liverpool to go on to better things on a personal level in recent years, but Luis Alberto is one of them.
The midfielder made just 12 appearances for the Reds, but he was never given a real chance in the side, and that led to Serie A outfit Lazio taking him to Italy for £4.3m. There, he has really flourished – he has managed more than 10 assists in two separate campaigns in the country’s top flight, and has even earned a cap for Spain thanks to his performances – he is now said to be worth £39.6m, as per Transfermarkt.

Given how he has performed since his departure, it seems many of the club’s supporters are ruing his exit – one fan even called him an “astonishing player”. Twitter page Anfield Edition asked their followers who they would rather have stayed out of Iago Aspas, Alberto and Suso, and it was the Lazio man who received a lot of backing.
