Major mistake: Mourinho should be forcing these 2 stars out of Man United to keep Martial

Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping that one of their star men won’t be another departure, among growing rumours of a huge overhaul at the club in the summer.

Anthony Martial is a player that seems to need an arm around him with constant reassurance that he is the top man, ever since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez at the club, our regulars have noticed Martial’s dip in first-team minutes – much to their frustration.

Many of the same regulars also believe that the signing of Sanchez was not needed at all. Indeed, both the Frenchman and Rashford playing some fantastic football between them in the first half of the season, with them now seeing both of their noses out of joint due to the Chilean.

In what could be a huge blow to the Red Devils, we could see the departure of what is one of the brightest talents in Europe at the moment, and United’s loss would certainly be someone else’s gain. However, if things don’t pick up like reports suggest, then a player that surely the United fans wouldn’t want to lose so early on in his career, could be on his way out after a sparkling start to his Old Trafford life.

Indeed, our barman thinks that Mourinho should be concentrating on getting these TWO flops out of the door instead, in order to keep the French international…

Juan Mata

Understandably, Juan Mata is a hugely popular figure at Old Trafford. Indeed, the Spaniard really is a wonderful player and one who constantly gives his all, though surely Martial is more important.

As good as Mata is, the 29-year-old has probably seen his best days now and, while he could do a job for a top team for a few years, should be sacrificed to allow Martial to flourish. The upsides Martial can offer sadly outweigh the ones Mata can, at this stage of his career.

Paul Pogba

Controversial perhaps, but Paul Pogba has flattered to deceive since joining United from Juventus back in the summer of 2016. Other than his second half against Manchester City last week, it’s hard to remember the Frenchman really flourishing and there do seem to be problems between him and Jose Mourinho.

With that in mind, surely cutting ties with him before a talent such as Martial is a better way to go.
