Everton supporters in the Transfer Tavern are still thrilled that Ronald Koeman has managed to reunite Wayne Rooney with his boyhood team.

Manchester United’s all-time leading goalscorer became Koeman’s sixth summer arrival. Whilst Everton have been very busy in the market so far, the cause for further reinforcements is apparent.

The Toffees are in desperate need of attacking depth following the departure of Romelu Lukaku, and Wayne Rooney alone isn’t going to cut it. The Merseyside club secured Europa League qualification last season, and given how well their transfer dealings are progressing, Koeman could be establishing a very competitive squad for the forthcoming season.

As previously mentioned, Everton must target a replacement for Romelu Lukaku who scored 26 goals in all competitions last season. Here are three players our landlord has chosen for Everton to target.

Olivier Giroud

The 30-year-old is facing considerable uncertainty at Arsenal following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette. Having lost his status as Arsenal’s leading striker last season, it seems that the experienced Frenchman has fallen further down the pecking order with the arrival of Lacazette. He would be a superb signing for Everton.

Since signing for the North London club in 2012, Giroud has never failed to reach double digits each year regarding goals scored. His total of 16 last season was the lowest he has attained in a season with the Gunners which displays how well the Frenchman has done during his time with the FA Cup winners.

Christian Benteke

This is a player who is endowed with considerable Premier League experience having represented Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Crystal Palace. During his time in England, the 26-year-old has always managed to score at least ten goals in all competitions, and he displayed his significance for the Eagles last season as he scored 15 league goals in Palace’s successful fight for survival.

It could be argued that there isn’t a superior header of the ball in England’s top flight, Benteke is incredibly vigorous and physical. His arrival would guarantee goals for Ronald Koeman.

Fernando Llorente

It is always an enticing prospect to sign a former World Cup winner.

The 32-year-old was an essential figure in Swansea’s fight for Premier League survival last season, scoring 15 goals for the Welsh side.

Similarly to Benteke, Llorente’s ability to attack a ball is supreme, and it is rare to see such proficient header of football. Despite being 32, Llorente exhibits quality in abundance.
