In a similar fashion to their fierce rivals Manchester United, City are primed to embark on their pre-season tour of the USA as Guardiola prepares for the arrival of the upcoming season. Manchester City are participants of the pre-season tournament the International Champions Cup, and they will face Tottenham, Manchester United and Real Madrid whilst on tour.

With the mass media speculation that surrounds potential transfers, much has been said about who Guardiola could choose to leave out or include in the squad that travels to America this summer.

Raheem Sterling

The Englishman’s position at Manchester City is under threat following the arrival of Bernardo Silva from French Champions AS Monaco. Despite scoring a reputable total of 10 goals and providing nine assists in all competitions for City last season, Sterling lost his regular spot in Guardiola’s starting eleven towards the conclusion of the last campaign; now his position is under further threat.

City’s 22-year-old forward must shine on their pre-season tour to allow Guardiola to re-think his options. The former Barcelona manager has an abundance of attacking options at his disposal, and if Sterling is keen to prolong his Manchester City career, he must testify his significance to the cause on their forthcoming tour.

Tosin Adarabioyo

City’s 19-year-old defender is highly regarded as one of the club’s most prominent youth products and can reinforce his status on City’s summer tour. The imposing centre-half has yet to make a Premier League appearance for the Citizens, yet he has made four senior appearances in total for the club. He even played a full ninety minutes for City in the Champions League against Celtic last season.

The English defender is a commanding presence on the pitch due to his impressive height and if rewarded with ample opportunities he could become an exceedingly fine player. Since establishing their status as a financial powerhouse, City’s record of integrating young players has been poor – Adarabioyo is the perfect opportunity for them to alter their status.
