Liverpool: Fans discuss Mamadou Sakho after latest comments

Mamadou Sakho was a regular for Liverpool when Jurgen Klopp first arrived at the club.

The 52-year-old joined in October 2015 following the 1-1 draw with Everton, and Sakho would end up starting 18 games in the Premier League that term. He also made 10 appearances in the Europa League, even scoring in the comeback against Borussia Dortmund too.

However, a doping ban towards the end of that campaign after testing positive for a type of fat burner effectively ended his career at the club – he finished with 80 appearances before making the switch to Crystal Palace, who paid £26m for him after he had spent some time on loan at the club.

It seems that the France international was fond of his time on Merseyside though. He told Stadium Mag: “When I left PSG, I had offers from Barcelona, Bayern, Arsenal and Liverpool. I choose Liverpool because they were one of the clubs of my dreams with a great history. I had the chance to spend four years there in the Reds’ shirt at Anfield with a fantastic crowd.”

These quotes were shared by Twitter page Anfield Edition, and the supporters were quick to share their opinions – one fan even called him “bambi on ice.”
