Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are feeling optimistic after The Express explained how Manuel Pellegrini is lining up a move for Juventus star Paul Pogba as a potential replacement for Yaya Toure.
Toure, who is currently on international duty with the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations, has been tipped to make a final big move before he retires.
The former Barcelona man isn’t afraid to move whilst performing at a successful club as he has already achieved all there is to achieve with the Citizens, apart from the Champions League that is but the Ivorian won that competition with Barca.
However, Pellegrini will only let him leave if the Citizens can arrange a deal to see Pogba arriving from Turin.
Something, which may tempt the French international into a move to the Etihad Stadium is the fact that national legend Patrick Viera is a leading figure at the club.
Pogba’s price tag is believed to be in the region of £50 million and City will have to scrap for his signature with fellow big spenders Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid who are also rumoured to be interested this summer.
