Plenty of Manchester City fans have welcomed reports that Pep Guardiola is likely to agree a contract extension at the Etihad Stadium.
The Daily Express reported that, despite ex-Barcelona president Juan Laporta’s desire to bring their former manager back to Camp Nou as part of his re-election campaign, the Premier League champions are confident that Guardiola will sign a new deal to extend his stay at the club beyond 2021. The news was later shared on Twitter by @City_Chief.

According to the Daily Express, the Manchester City manager hit out at his former club’s current president Josep Maria Bartomeu for comments seemingly welcoming the English side’s two-year ban from UEFA competitions, potentially souring Guardiola’s relationship with Barcelona.
The 49-year-old has so far had four years in charge at the Etihad Stadium and won eight trophies in that time, including two Premier League titles with record points tallies of 100 and 98, as well as lifting the Carabao Cup for the third year in a row back in March.
