Manchester City: Fans react excitedly to transfer links with David Alaba

Plenty of Manchester City fans have been reacting to transfer reports linking them with a possible move for Bayern Munich’s David Alaba.

As reported by 90min.com and shared on Twitter via @City_Xtra, the Premier League champions are considering a move for the Austria international which could see Leroy Sane moving in the opposite direction, with Bayern apparently willing to include their player in the transfer if it means that Sane could be signed for as little as £10m.

According to 90min.com, Manchester City view the 27-year-old left-back as a replacement for Benjamin Mendy in that position, while such a move would see the versatile Austrian reunited with Guardiola, having played 124 times under the Spaniard during their mutual time at the Allianz Arena.

Alaba has made 372 senior appearances for Bayern Munich and won 20 trophies with the club, including eight Bundesliga titles and the 2013 Champions League. He has featured 28 times for the German club this season, with one goal and two assists to his name.

These Manchester City fans on Twitter would love to see him at the Etihad Stadium, with one supporter believing any such move would represent a “masterclass” from director of football Txiki Begiristain:

Man City fans, do you think the club should look to sign Alaba as an upgrade on Mendy and as part of a deal that would see Sane moving to Bayern? Have your say by commenting below!
