Manchester City: Fans rage at Aymeric Laporte and Benjamin Mendy injury update

According to the Manchester Evening News, both Aymeric Laporte and Benjamin Mendy were absent from Man City’s squad to face Arsenal due to injury.

The defensive duo, who both recently returned to action before the international break, now face another spell on the sidelines after this update.

Indeed, as per Manchester Evening News, the French duo missed City’s solid 1-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday evening with fitness trouble, but apparently Mendy is expected to be out for longer, adding to his already-chequered injury history in his three years at the Etihad.

Laporte and Mendy join Gabriel Jesus on the treatment table, just as the Sky Blues welcomed back both Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero.

Sterling bagged a crucial winner against the Gunners in what was a much-needed first win in three league games, with Pep Guardiola’s side also going on to keep their first league clean sheet of the season (as per Transfermarkt).

However, with two fresh injury blows, many Citizens find themselves cursing their luck with fitness once again, blasting the ‘ridiculous‘ news on Twitter – you can find some of their best comments from social media below.
