Manchester City: Fans laud Bernardo Silva on three-year anniversary of his signing

A number of Manchester City fans hailed Bernardo Silva following a post from the club’s official Twitter account @ManCity acknowledging the three-year anniversary of his arrival at the Etihad Stadium.

The Portugal winger came to the Premier League on 26 May 2017 for a fee of £43.6m (as per The Guardian), having played in the Monaco team that knocked his future employers out of the Champions League a couple of months previously.

In three years so far the club, the 25-year-old has already won eight trophies, including two Premier League titles and three Carabao Cups. In 144 appearances under Pep Guardiola he has scored 29 goals and supplied 33 assists, with a haul of seven goals and eight assists so far in the current campaign.

Among the highlights of his Manchester City career are the opening goal in the 2-0 win at Manchester United last season and his hat-trick in the 8-0 demolition of Watford in September 2019. He was also among the nominees for last year’s Ballon d’Or.
