Manchester City: Fans react to club’s striker search after Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus injury setbacks

According to an update by journalist Duncan Castles on the Transfer Window podcast, Manchester City are seeking a new forward option before deadline day tomorrow following injuries to both Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus, prompting many Sky Blues fans to revel in the update on Twitter.

Aguero, who has been out of action since late June, picking up a knee injury during City’s resounding 5-0 home win over Burnley, cannot even rely on his South American counterpart and backup option Jesus.

The Brazilian will also be sidelined over the next few games due to muscle problems sustained at Wolves, leaving the Sky Blues bereft of any natural striking options bar promising youngster Liam Delap.

Delap buried a lovely finish to open the scoring in the recent 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Bournemouth, but given his lack of experience, City will reportedly take to the transfer market as per Castles.

Flocking to this huge update, some Cityzens have been absolutely joyous over this news – you can find some of the best comments from Twitter below.
