A number of Manchester City fans have been reacting to the latest twist in the club’s reported transfer pursuit of Nelson Semedo.
Last week, Spanish media outlet Sport claimed [via Sport Witness] that “everything indicates” that the Barcelona right-back would move to the Premier League champions, having also been a transfer target for Pep Guardiola last summer.
However, a fresh report from Mundo Deportivo [via Sport Witness] stated that the 26-year-old now favours a move to Juventus in a prospective swap deal which would see Miralem Pjanic move to Camp Nou. The latest update on Semedo’s possible move to Manchester was shared on Twitter by @City_Xtra.
Nelson Semedo is set to snub #ManCity and sign for Juventus instead this summer.

A report from Corriere dello Sport last week suggested that the Portugal defender was being lined up by Manchester City as a potential replacement for Joao Cancelo, who was touted to move back to Italy. He only came to the Etihad Stadium last summer in a €65m (£60m) deal but has been restricted to eight Premier League starts, with Guardiola often preferring Kyle Walker at right-back.
These Manchester City fans on Twitter seemed content with the reduced likelihood of Semedo coming to the club, with one supporter dismissing him as “Cancelo V2” as another remarked that “Kyle Walker wins again”.

Don’t think it’s our loss, Barca play a cm in right back over him

Great news. We might actually try to go for a good RB if Cancelo wants to leave.

Thank god, hope we just keep Cancelo and he gets a proper chance. I swear it’s our CB’s that are the problem, we fix that and Cancelo/Angelino/Mendy will look like worldbeaters
