Manchester City fans here at the Transfer Tavern have become very excited with the club’s academy prospects.

A number of players have made the jump from the academy to the first-team in recent months and many more are likely to do so in the coming years.

City have been heavily criticised by some in the Tavern for their over spending on players but not many are willing to grant them admiration for their impressive state of the art football academy.

This summer a number of academy players were loaned to some of Europe’s biggest leagues to improve their overall game, and return to City in the future capable of achieving first-team football.

Our landlord has taken a look at some of City’s young prospects on loan, and come up decided that these TWO are players City fans should be very excited about…..

Marlos Moreno

Colombian winger Moreno signed for City this summer before being loaned to La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna to obtain a work permit for the UK.

Moreno has our City locals excited after some key performances in Spain, and his return to City will add much needed width to Pep Guardiola’s side.

Moreno has been called the best young South American prospect for more than a decade and City have one hell of a player on their hands.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Remember the name! The youngest Ukraine player to make his competitive debut, Zinchenko was signed for City this summer from Russian Premier League club FC Ufa.

Zinchenko represented Ukraine at Euro 2016 and was also wanted by Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The Ukraine international made the move to PSV this summer with his future at City expected to be bright.

Zinchenko was personally requested by Pep Guardiola and is apparently the long term successor to David Silva according to our landlord!
