Man United hero reacts to big injury news and explains why they must beat Everton

It was a decent return to the Champions League for the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern on Tuesday night, though the result invariably came at a cost.

Indeed, our resident Red Devils were pained to see Paul Pogba taken off early in the first-half amid suggestions the Frenchman could be out for up to six weeks. Though he’s not always convinced since his move back to Old Trafford, few would doubt the fact that he was playing his best football over the past few weeks.

So, the news that he’ll be missing is a blow. However, a teammate of his – Marcus Rashford – has stressed United’s strength in depth and believes manager Jose Mourinho has plenty of options from which to pick from when drafting in a replacement.

Still, the England international has conceded the fact that Pogba will be a ‘huge miss’ with quotes sourced in the Daily Mail, with our United-mad punters inclined to agree.

‘That’s why you have such a strong squad,’ the 19-year-old forward said.

‘It’s good for the manager, it’s good for the players as well because we’re always playing for competition.

‘But Paul’s going to be a massive miss and hopefully we can get him back fit as soon as possible.

‘We have to play every game to win.

‘If we want to be champions, then we have to win them types of games (like Sunday’s).”

Landlord’s Verdict:

There are certainly a number of options Mourinho can pick from when replacing Pobga, though it’s far from ideal. Indeed, the Frenchman provides so much in pushing forward that it’s hard to properly retain that sort of balance in their ranks with him not there.
