Manchester United and Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have shared disbelief today, after some sensational news was brought to their attention.
The Daily Star sensationally reveals that Manchester United are among the favourites to sign Chelsea captain John Terry, who’s expected to end his 18-year association with the Blues first-team this summer upon the end of his contract.
Former England captain John Terry is highly likely to move abroad and follow former international colleagues Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard in the MLS, but United are ranked 5-1 to land the experienced defender.
With many expecting Jose Mourinho to take charge at Old Trafford this summer, a reunion between Terry and his former boss does not seem too farfetched, although Terry himself previously promised he wouldn’t play for another Premier League side.
Our landlord isn’t too convinced though as he feels he’ll take a move wherever he can get regular football and, if that’s Old Trafford, then Chelsea fans better get prepared for an upset.
