Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are not quite sure what to make of the recent paper talk surrounding Paul Pogba.
Much of the back pages have been made up of the recent rumoured spat between Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba following the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur a few weeks back. Since then, Pogba has been substituted twice and dropped, which has only added fuel to the fire with the gossip mongers in the bar.
If Pogba was to make a move away from Old Trafford this summer, it’d certainly come as a huge surprise all around the pub. Still, Mourinho would need to replace the Frenchman with a same level of quality in the midfield, especially with the retirement of Micheal Carrick and possible other departures in a revamp.
Our landlord has taken a look around Europe and listed TWO superstar players that could come into the United fold and make a difference next season if Pogba does depart again.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been in outstanding form for Lazio in Serie A this season and, as a result, his stock along with his price tag is on an upward trajectory. The big and powerful Serbian already partners United’s Nemanja Matic in the national team’s midfield, so to bring him it would be an easy settlement period for the pair.
He’s skilful and still only 23-years-old, and a move to Old Trafford would be pleasing to everyone involved.
Toni Kroos

Toni Kroos reportedly very nearly joined United under David Moyes’s short reign at the club in what would have been a brilliant move for the Red Devils. He’s vastly experienced, furthermore, Kroos’ is still only 28, and would be the ideal replacement for the retiring Carrick.
Even though Kroos seems pivotal to the Real Madrid squad at the moment, a new challenge in the Premier League may turn his head. Linked with a move, he’d be a wonderful signing.
