Man United’s dream 2017/2018 XI including £180m quartet

Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to see signs of them returning to their best and are, naturally, hugely excited.
After a few seasons in the wilderness after Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement the Red Devils’ fans saw Jose Mourinho arrive at the club in the summer with many proclaiming the good times were about to be back.
It had appeared, though, it was going to take longer than first thought with the club still trying to find it’s feet this year.
That looks to have happened now, though, with Mourinho evidently knowing his best team and looking set to add to it over the next couple of windows according to The Telegraph.
Reportedly, he wants to spend £180 million on four players to aid his revolution with Nelson Semedo, Victor Lindelof, Antoine Griezmann and Tiemoue Bakayoko the names in question.
Whether or not these all go through remains to be seen but it’s got our landlord thinking; what could United’s 2017/18 team look like?
Here’s what came up…
GK: David De Gea
United can sign all the players they want, they won’t sign a better ‘keeper or arguably more important player in the near future than David De Gea.
Keeping hold of the Spaniard is pivotal to anything the club want to do over the coming years.
RB: Nelson Semedo
Semedo is a powerful and fast right back and could be the competition that Antonio Valencia finally sees oust him from the side.
The Benfica man is set for a bright career in the game and a move to United gives him the platform his talent needs.
The French star has had a superb 2016 and would make any side in the world better. He’s played in some of the biggest games in world football and that is where United would want him to take them back to.
The powerful Swede has more than adapted to the Premier League and should lead the line for United next season, too. Where that leaves Marcus Rashford, though, remains to be seen.
